I have always enjoyed painting and am a self-taught artist. I have painted in oils and acrylics in the past, but I watched a video of Australian artist, Robert Wade while in an art shop decades ago and was mesmerised. It was the turning point in my artistic journey as he painted this beautiful watercolour of Venice. Please see my Blog on Watercolour Artists. I have been hooked ever since. To name another strong influence, Joseph Zbukvic has always been a guide from afar, although I have taken several workshops with him. I have also had the privilege of being a guest teacher with the the Woodford Art Group under the sponsorship of the Moreton Bay Council. I have also taught watercolour to small groups of clients and friends over the years.
I will continue to discover new ways to grow as an artist, and to discover new techniques and ways to improve my approach to watercolour.
I will also continue to share my knowledge and experience with others through my lessons.
My dedication to accuracy in portraiture is important as I enjoy doing my best to capture the true likeness of a person, particularly in their eyes. If the eyes are protrayed correctly the rest seems to follow.
